Bookshelf Speakers
"Bookshelf speaker" has long been a sort of catchall term for a standalone loudspeaker that can't, well, stand alone. It needs a shelf or a stand or possibly a wall- or ceiling-mount to hold it up. This allows great flexibility in placement and application—a good bookshelf model can work well in a stereo music system and as the main front or surround speakers in a home theater—although most will benefit from coupling with a subwoofer to fill out at least the very lowest bass. We have designed all of our speakers that can be stand- or shelf-mounted for easy, elegant wall-mounting as well, not to mention superior performance and stylish appearance.
